Personal items and anything that should stay must be removed or clearly separated before dismantling. Discuss bulky contents in advance.
Can the slab stay?
Yes, when the agreed scope is structure removal only. Slab demolition must be reviewed separately.
What about installed power?
Hardwired equipment must be made safe by the appropriate qualified trade before demolition begins.
Do small sheds need a Seattle demolition permit?
Seattle currently exempts some one-story accessory structures under 120 square feet on pier blocks or slab-on-grade from a demolition permit. Confirm the current rule and your site conditions with SDCI.
Can wet or damaged material be removed?
Often, but water damage, mold, pests or suspect hazardous material should be identified before work is scheduled.
How is the price set?
Structure size, construction, roof layers, foundation, utilities, access, debris volume and disposal requirements all affect the scope.
