Backyard Playset Removal Prep Checklist

Clear the play area before the crew arrives, but leave heavy framing in place. The useful preparation is information: dimensions, materials, anchor points and the path to the loading area.

Before the estimate

• Photograph all four sides and the ground at each post.
• Measure the overall footprint and tallest point.
• List slides, swings, climbing walls, roofs and loose accessories.
• Show the narrowest gate and any stairs.
• Point out lighting, power or other installed features.

Before the work date

• Remove toys and personal items from the surrounding yard.
• Keep children and pets away from the work zone.
• Move fragile planters, furniture and decorations off the carry route.
• Confirm where reusable accessories should be placed.
• Arrange parking or gate access for the agreed arrival window.

Anchors change the job

Some playsets rest on the surface. Others use buried stakes or posts set in concrete. A photo at each leg helps identify what is visible, but hidden conditions may only become clear during dismantling. Decide in advance whether below-grade anchors should be removed, cut back or left for a later contractor.
